For Career Advisors and Counselors
To keep our economy strong, nearly every student and job seeker will need further education or training. Today, about 75% of all jobs and 93% of top jobs—those with high growth rates and that pay a living wage—require a certificate or degree.
The good news is that there are more pathways to success than ever before, whether Coloradans go on to a college, university, technical school or join an apprenticeship program, the military or the workforce. That’s why we invite you to participate in Colorado Applies Month (CAM), a campaign that guides students and job seekers along the application process.
This year Colorado Applies Month runs from Sept. 19 through Oct. 21. To complement your efforts, we’ve put together the following statewide events and resources.
CAM Online Outcomes
My Colorado Journey guides users—regardless of age—as they explore, chart and execute their career and education paths. Once they select a goal, such as applying to an apprenticeship program, they’ll be connected to resources and tools for each of those Goals. Detailed action Steps smooth the way to achieve desired Outcomes.
To guide 11th and 12th grade students and adults during CAM, we have created My Colorado Journey Outcomes for each that include weekly Goals and detailed action Steps to reach those goals. Users select only the Goals that they wish to achieve.
As students and adults complete activities, professionals can monitor their progress and view responses to milestone activities.
Best of all, there is an Outcome for professionals named My Colorado Applies Month Implementation Guide that provides professionals—whether job coach, counselor, teacher or advisor—with strategies to implement CAM.
